Sad Passing of Team Member

It is with deep sadness that Kendal Mountain Search and Rescue Team received the news of the passing of team stalwart Harry Ashcroft. Harry’s involvement in mountain rescue stretches back over 40 years. He was part of RAF Valley MRT and then Furness MRT, he remained when they formed as Duddon and Furness MRT. Harry then joined Kendal MRT and his knowledge of search management was invaluable, passing on his extensive experience to the up and coming search managers, not only within the team but across mountain rescue. His favourite tipple whenever socialising with the team was always a fine single malt whisky. We shall all raise a glass this weekend and remember the good times whilst offering our condolences to his family and close friends. Per Ardua Ad Astra Harry, “Through Adversity to the Stars”
