This month we headed off towards Borrow Beck near Hucks bridge to practise working with casualties on steep ground. We discussed and practised leading people down one to one using different techniques.
Then after a quick lunch break we set about rigging a backrope system using our talons so that we can lower a stretcher down steep ground and how to transfer the weight whilst we reset the system. We also used the human chain method.
This was all conducted under the critical eyes of trainee search dog Ivy and her big sister Search dog Fern.
